Default Stealership prices for 30K service?

What did you pay for your 30K service?

Did you change out the fluids in the two differentials and transfer case?

Obviously, I'm at that point now on my GX. The stealership in CO quoted me $1-1.6K today. I'm not clear on the differences between their three levels of service, but $1K didn't seem to get me much. For $1.4K they added diff servicing. For $1.6K, they added a tranny flush which isn't called for until 60K mi. In the very short time that I've known the stealership in CO, I've been amazed at the extras they recommend during services.

I was surprised at the prices, so I got a second opinion from my former dealer in UT for $600.

I've got to double check what else the stealer in CO is recommending over and above.

I would have them service only what is recommended in your owner's manual.

I'm more interested in determining if the CO stealer's pricing is on par or not.

I just spent time with the owner's manual, so I'm up to date on that now.

A lot of us bought them used with higher miles.

You should ask them for an itemized printout of the charges prior to getting the service done so you can see what they are charging for each item.

I remember. I paid with my own blood, scraped knuckles and elbows, maybe some oil on a favorite t-shirt. LOL

Update: The service adviser didn't accurately quote me. They said he was new, but he was either a moron or this is a systematic approach to screwing the customer.

If I hadn't made an issue about it when I brought in my GX for warranty work, they wouldn't have revisited the 30k service quote.

Bottom line, the stealership went the extra mile on my warranty work (after I gently refused to let them cheap out) and that was appreciated. However, this has definitely put my future relationship with them in jeopardy. I'll give them another chance, but they're on a short leash.
