more towing success w/ GX
#16
Starting to sound like THT around here
I've been towing with my 2004 GX a little over 3 years now. Up until a month ago I was pulling a 22' Sea Pro CC which hit the scale just over 5,000lbs with no gear but about 3/4 tank of gas. I just sold the boat and a few weeks ago pulled an 18' Grady White from Charleston to Orlando. It pulled like there was nothing back there.

No brake controller, but the trailer is equipped with tongue activated surge brakes. As the tongue compresses the brakes are automatically applied without any interaction with the tow vehicle. This does require the tow vehicle to send a reverse indicator, so that the brakes disengage when the vehicle is in reverse. A 5 pin flat connection is provided on the trailer, which is somewhat odd. I can confirm the reverse indicator functions properly on my 2004 when used with a 5 pin flat adapter.
