Default Vibration when turning

I recently bought a 06 GX470 w/ 70k miles and noticed vibrations/sputtering when i accelerate during a turn. For example when you back out of a parking space, turn your wheels all the way and go. It happens when i turn right and left. Anyone have any ideas what could be going on here?

I am assuming that the sputtering is coming from the engine. Sputtering causes vibration. Sounds like the idle is too low. Next time, in a less crouded lot, or an empty lot, back up, turn the wheel, but before you go and sputter, step on the brake slightly and raise the idle, before you let go of the brakes. See if it still sputters and get back to us.

Try the same thing, with air conditioning on, then air condition off, without raising the rpms, as mentioned above.

I notice a little vibration when backing out of my driveway with the wheel turned, but not engine sputtering. I attribute this to the AWD system, but could be wrong. ..

It's likely this. I experienced the same kind of feel in my 4R.

Don't worry about it unless it's accompanied by noise.

Dumb question: how can I tell if the front differential is locked?

It is the push button on the dash board, looks like 4 wheels and an X. Left side of the steering wheel, next to the thumb wheel, to dim the interior lights.

The switch light would be on, if it is on, it also shows up in the dash display at on, with the same symbol that is on the button. . Locking the hubs, makes the truck more like 4 wheel drive. This would not be used for dry pavement, it creates wear and tear. It is for deep snow/ mud, when you need more pulling power.
