45k service and oil change question: 2004
I have a 2004 GX with 40k miles- I purchased it with 31k miles recently. I've been going to the dealership for the oil changes at $96/pop. I can take it to Toyota for an oil change right?? Paying almost $100 for an oil change seems crazy. I don't mind going to the dealer for some of the more serious maintenance things.
Also, was told the 45k service would include something about "idle timing reset" or something like that. What is that and is it important? I'm sure the 45k service will run me about $400- and it doesn't seem like they do much other than change the oil, rotate the tires, replace the AC filter. Wondering what you guys would do.... dealership or just go to Toyota for same thing?
Thanks,
