I installed a Vaistech MML so I can listen to music off a USB stick.

Not a lot of room under the dash - I ended up velcro-ing it on top of the 4WD computer located under the glovebox.

@ Sethro

I'm assuming since you're put on all of those LED lights you're going offroad. What made you decide to go with 20" wheels and tires if you're turning your GX into an overland rig?

Replaced rear shocks with KYB 344410 GR2/Excel-G OE. Much better response in rear, no more flat bottom out, simple install, took longer to remove old ones and with tires/wheels on

Yes I am using it for a Overland rig, and no I did not go with 20" wheels, that is not my thing, they are 18" wheels, have a ton more stuff to do. Will start a build thread after the Overland Expo

Oh ok, from the pics your tires look low profile. I guess the sidewall biters on the Coopers threw me off.

Looking forward to your thread....

Great data point. I'm still waiting on my Bilstein HD 4600 shocks -- backordered.

Did you happen to measure the compressed & extended lengths of the OE shocks and the replacements?

I put new Raybestos R300s and Akebono ACT976 ProACT Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pads on the front. I'd been feeling the familiar shaking and vibrating that comes with aged rotors since March. The discs were a pain to remove. Mine were stuck solid. It took several good strikes with a hammer and a block of wood to break them loose. My pads had plenty of meat left. They had been replaced by the previous owner just last year. I went a changed them out since I was already in there. The whole job took one hour.

Sethro, looks like a Safari snorkel. Which model did you get? SS186 or SS181? This is on my list of mods but haven't got around to figuring out with Prado model works with our V-8. Thanks.

Tonight I rebuilt my front brakes, reman calipers, new rotors, and hawk lts pads. Greased the piston faces, the backs and sides of the pads, and the pins with the hawk grease. Flushed the brakes with DOT4 fluid.

Test drove, they need to be bedded properly, but they feel strong.
