Default GX Left side passenger door issue

Fellas,

Recently, I noticed that the left passenger side door will not close all the way. It seems that it needs a bit of excessive force for it to close all the way when I'm closing it, otherwise it will not close properly. The other 3 doors close normal. At first I thought it was my wife that leaving the door like this untli I experienced it myself. I close the other 3 doors like you would close a normal car door and they pass with flying colors. However, when I close the left passenger door, it didn't close shut.
Anyone has the same experience ? I wonder what can I do to make it close normal like the other doors.

Thanks in advance

You could carry out the following inspections.
1. Any defect on the Door Hinge ( Either bent or loose or mis-aligned.
2. The Roof Drip Side Finish on the upper side, To check life the rubber towards the upper side and check for deformity, or fine rubber holes. If yes then go for a replacement, they are quite cheap.
3. Check for the mouldings on the floor side, for any mialignment.
let us know the outcome.

Yo Mann

I will definitely let you guys know the outcome.
Base on my findings, do you think I can do the replacement myself or do I need a pro to do it , i.e changing the molding ?

Good looking. Thanks!

My guess would be the door check (strap or stop) assembly too dry or bent.
Regease all of them while you are at it for smooth operation.

No tools required, just bare hands( with nitrile gloves off course ) to remove the deformed rubber lining and replace with a new one. Any other basic Philips S/Driver. I am sure you have this. All should be over in 20-25 mts.

Default GX470 Check Strap

Hi,

Would anyone happen to have documentation on how to replace driver door check strap on 07 GX470? Seems pretty straightforward but getting to it seems a little tough after removing the door panel.

Thanks in advance,
Tom
