Angry Early Season :(

[sarcasm] Unbeknown to me, I went early season deer hunting the other night. [/sarcasm]

Evasive action limited damage to front bumper cover and passenger side fog light. Passenger side headlight got pushed in a tad but I should be able to remount in correct spot upon removal / reinstall. Same w/ fender flare as it has a small buckle at top and where it meets passenger door.

Glad there was no other damage b/c with 115k on the clock (and likely to dump GX w/in next year), I really don't feel like putting a lot more in to her. New covers are only ~ $250 but add another $5-600 for paint and $220 for fog lamp, it's going to round out to ~ a grand. My cover is definitely not repairable based on tears which occurred (plus a chunk missing) so I'm in search of used [fingers crossed] meridian blue bumper cover

I asked her, but Bambi didn't have any type of insurance coverage...

Let me know if you come across a decent meridian blue (8R4) bumper cover and keep eye out for the deer as they seem to be hitting the roads much earlier this year. Just glad I wasn't driving either of my other cars or the damage and subsequent $$$ would be a whole lot different... necessitating insurance claim.

Sorry to hear about your mishap with Bambi. Glad you're okay. Were you able to collect Bambi for dinner(s)?

LOL - Unfortunately no as I was ~ 250 miles from the garage... She's in your state and had I known, I would have sent you some coordinates earlier

Oh man, fresh venison! Every morning when I leave the house, I pray that none of the deers in the area jump out in front of me. Two years ago, I had a deer decide to trot in the middle of a two lane road. I followed for about two hundred feet and then it left the roadway. I'm like, "you're supposed to cross the road, not go with the flow of traffic!"

Be warned, deer season is "OPEN", in VA!

Hitting a deer is considered an "Act of God" and comprehensive will cover the damages. No hit to your insurance.

Thanks - well aware but total damage including paint likely below deductible (even if new skin) so will just avoid ins. hassle.

Yep, deer season has come earlier than usual this year... I started seeing a lot more of them here in Central NJ as well...

And a buddy of mine had a Bambi come crushing in through a grill of his Ford Escape. Not that he cared about the car; Ford Escape that is a company car too...

I replaced bumper cover too. My color Blue Meridian as well. $500-600 seems a lot. I paid $350.
