Just wanted to introduce myself, I'm a long time LandCruiser freak who currently owns a 1976 FJ40, 1996 FZJ80 and now a 2006 Lexus GX470. I just wanted to ask the wise folks in this forums if there are any issues to look out for? I picked the GX for the wife with 61K miles for $27.5K. I hope that was a good deal? Anyways thanks and look forwards to chatting with you guys.

Welcome! I'm a Landcruiser fanatic myself and owned a FJ60 and will be getting a FJ80 very soon as well! I can no longer drive a truck without diff locks! =P

No issues at all besides doing the typical preventive maintenance at 90k (timing belt, water pump) and the clunk issue that there is a sticky thread about that explains it.

Thanks LifeEnjoyr!! Is the clunk fix included in the 7 year 70K powertrain warranty coverage?

The driveshaft clunk is actually a TSB and should be covered.

Welcome to the forum and hope your wife enjoys the truck.

Oh, and I'm really envious about your other 2 toys...

Post some pics when I get a moment.

I found all the service records by login into the Lexus website and entering the vin#. The driveshaft was replaced at 2,400K miles, so I guess no worries on the clunk. Also, they might have replaced one of the front shock absorbers at 31k miles , it says "shock absorber 1-SD". Don't know what that means. Overall this a really clean vehicle that came from the Palm Springs area.

Shocks seem to be a common problem too.... Post up some pics, sounds like a great collection.
