yes it could be an O2 sensor but it could also be a loose gas cap, bad coil pack on one or more cylinders, bad MAF, a vacuum leak, etc., etc., etc. Lots of possibilities... W/o the specific error codes they're all just guesses and you could end up throwing lots of good money replacing perfectly fine parts.
So... go to any national auto parts chain (AutoZone, Advanced Auto, Pep Boys, etc.) and have them read your codes w/ their OBDII scantron (most/all do it for free). Then post back here w/ the results. Ask them for the specific codes (P_ _ _ _). If they give you the P300 (multi cylinder misfire), ask them which cylinders exactly... it'll be P301 for cylinder 1, P302 for cylinder 2 and so forth.
Once we know the codes we can help diagnose it correctly.
Good luck

The easiest thing to do is to check the gas cap first, before you go through all other steps. Make sure its tight to the click. If broken - buy a new one from your Lexus or Toyota dealer. Should be around $25-$30.
If the gas cap is good, then you will need to get the OBD codes.

To bayer96,
Yes, get the error code read! Even if just as simple as a leaking gas cap, you still need to reset the code after replacing the cap. I can read the code for you if you are in West Orange/Livingston area. PM me if I can help.
