2004 GX470 Bluetooth/Iphone Aftermarket Products - Is there one that works?
I have a Motorolla portable bluetooth unit that works Ok with my iPhone. I'd like to find an aftermarket unit that would integrate with the OEM system, steering wheel controls etc. that would work with the phone and the iPod within the phone. Parrot looks like they may have a solution but I'm curious how those really work and if there are qualified installers.
Any insight would be appreciated!

The BT is a portable device clipped on the visor. I'm asking if there is a device that would integrate with the radio and steering wheel controls.

I have the parrot ck3000. It does not integrate in a 2004. It does not work through the speakers because of the mark levison amplified speakers unless the system is turned on and the volume up, ie, you have to be listening to the radio. I had to install a separate speaker under the passenger footwell. Other than that it works great for the brief amount of time I am willing to talk and drive. It is voice activated so I can wake it up by speaking to it and giving it commands or names to call. I mounted the controll pod on the console by the shifter.

I just installed a Parrot CK3100 in my Dad's 2004 Lexus GX470. I tried many of the portable units by various manufacturers and they usually worked well, but not well enough. I got fed up with spending 50-70 bucks every few months hoping to find the one that worked anywhere near as well as the integrated solutions in my newer cars.
Bought a ck3100 for $100 on ebay, paid $85 to have it installed. Works with the iphone 4. Super clear audio. Very reliable connections. Nothing to recharge. Auto on and off with the car power. BTW, I opted for using the separate external speaker rather than tap into the ML audio system. I didn't even want the mute option, just keep it separate is what I told them. Wish I had done this years ago.
The one thing I may have done differently is to buy two external speakers. The speakers are just $20. One is very clear and loud enough for sure, but it is a little weird to have the audio coming from the passenger footwell. It would have been nice to hear a stereo effect.
I put some pics up on the installer's yelp page. Don't do it yourself. A pro installer will do a much better job for very little money.
