Looked at an 07 GX, had a gray/black wood trim and dark gray console. Roof rack was a gray metalic also. Salesman said it was an option but didn't know much about it. There were also different looking rims - which had some paint blistering/rust on them.

I did some reasearch and found that there is a Sport Package that has these options and a KDSS, could you buy the gray trim package without the KDSS, and what does the KDSS really do?

I believe the sport package comes with KDDS. KDDS gives a great sporty ride with awesome handling and very rare.

Is there any way to tell if KDSS on the vehicle, besides looking at the trim? It says that the black birds eye maple, rails and cross bars - unique, is only available as a package, doesn't say which package I would asume it is the sport. .

I think I found my answers on other posts. I would think the dealer would know if it had this, but I guess this one doesn't.

I shouldn't be, but I'm surprised at how many non-car guys are in the car industry.

Also, one other option is to call Lexus 1800 if one knows the vin numbers to check whether it equiped with KDSS/any other factory options. That's what I did when I purchased mine.

I have a 2005 Sport Package. Black with dark wood gray int special headlight and fogliight look. dull wheel finish + dull rack.
The sport has the KDSS suspension which works like a charm. You can tell by the thick as heck front and rear stabilizer bars. This car has no body lean with this option in fact if you go into a turn a little hard and steer into it harder it levels the car out surprisingly flat, But it still has the supple ride. They are rare I looked for a number of months. You will be very happy with this.

Black/Gray was not a color that I was looking at but they gave me a good price on the truck - not so much on my trade which we are still working on. The initial price seemed good plus it is a CPO, thanks to the help here I found out it has the Sport/KDSS package, rear DVD, etc which everyone says is hard to find which I think would add some value above the regular GX - maybe not. Wife drives an RX 2007 bought new, which has been great. Even though it seems to be a good deal, it's still a lot of money for us but with the history of the RX and the CPO we think it would be a reasonable move.

Yep, very hard to find. I've never seen a Blizzard Pearl with Sport/KDSS package. That would be awesome!

Didn't buy a Sport, the 1st one I looked at was sold - after I told them the night before I was coming in the following morning to buy it, the second 07 Sport I looked at was a dog plus the dealer offered my 60% less for my trade than the other 2 dealers. Went and looked at a couple of non sport 08's, bought a Red/Beige with Nav/Lev 3rd row, new tires brakes, mats etc. and CPO. Taking delivery on Tuesday.

The funny thing as that both dealers did not know they had sports on the lot, the first dealer (used car manager) said he would find me another black GX, I told him if he found a sport let me know, he said the one I looked at was not a sport. The second Knucklehead who offered me $7000 less for my truck than the dealer I bought from, also said that his truck was not a sport - even thought the new delivery slip from Lexus said Sport Package $1800 on it.
