hid kit color????
Hey guys I just bought my first gx. It's an 2004 with 80k. I just installed a 5000k hid kit and I am not sure it looks right with the projector headlight lens. The vehicle has. Brand new lens on the left front and the original lens on the right. The previous owner did clean the right but you can tell it's faded like most Lexus out there. I was wondering what color kits most of you have been going with.

I had the 4300K hit and from Xenon Depot and loved them, nice and bright--but I wanted just a little more hint of the blue, so I bought some 5K bulbs from them and they are perfect, Still nice and bright with a hint of the blue I was looking for! I have the 5K in both Low beams and Fog lights

I currently have Philips 6000k on low beam = love the color but its really dim so I just ordered a 5000k philips the other day.
I also have generic 4500k for fogs that I replaced 3000k with. I hated the 3000k fogs as it did not look very yellow. Also when warming up it looks green and I hated it. the yellow color on the road was uneven, looked stock halogen in the middle and yellow with green/blue tinge on the edge of the light pattern. it just looked really cheap and ricey.

Xentec. I have used these kits in my Tahoe, g500 and my land cruiser. I do bounce back and forth on the 5000 and 6000k kits. Depends on the type of material the headlights lens is made of.

Replacement 5000k philips $120/set after discount (hidconcept)
3000k fog $15/set (ddmtuning - 1st set was defective. color was kermit the frog green, so ddm replaced it and 2nd set is halogen warm yellow with blue/green fringe around the outter edge of the light pattern/road)
4500k fog $20/set (can't remember the company - no complaints here as it ties nicely with low beam color but will match better once I get the 5000k low beam installed)
***4500k from ddm and any other non-philips(generic brands) have really really blue warm up color which I can't stand. when I turn on my car, the philips low beam will warm up quickly to a white color but generic fog bulbs take forever to warm up and stays ricey blue for quite some time. I have started associating extremely long blue warm up with cheap bulbs. Philips in comparison does not look that blue and warm up is substantially quicker.

I just installed my yellow 3000k kit and it's amazing. It's a nice bright yellow light and it fills the gap between the low beams perfectly. While I was at it I replaced the running board lights, tag lights and interior door lights with LEDs. I have the dark blue gx and the super white lights look awesome. I have a total of $79.00 invested in the lights. $35 for low and fogs and $9 for all the LEDs. Pictures will follow.
