With an aftermarket DVD you will probably have to take it to someone who can look at your specific setup. There are endless possibilities as to how it was hooked up. I am guessing that your solution will be something simple like a setting inside the DVD player. I do not know why someone would install a DVD player and not hook it up to the speakers.

maybe you can play it thru fm? try 87.5 and up. Thats what I did with my aftermarket dvd player. Sound is not as good but at least it plays through the speakers. It should play automatically if you find the right channel. You can change what station from the aftermarket dvd menu. Most have it built in..

i completely forgot to mention that! good call!
oh yeah...it does sound rather crappy when done that way but hey it works.
i also forgot to mention that i installed a lockpick in my GX and it gives you the ability to put whatever is on the aftermarket screen onto the nav screen as well, it comes with an A/V cable. that is how i got mine to work but i never use it....i have no interest in watching or listening to what my kids are watching.

Speaker sound for Lexus entertainment system
I just bought a 2004 Lexus gx with the Lexus entertainment system. From the owners manual it looks like the only sound available is through headphones. Please tell me there is a way around this. How can I play the kids' DVD through the car speakers? Any help would be appreciated because i'm at a complete loss here. Thanks!
