Installed Volant CAI on 05 GX
I helped a friend installed the Volant CAI on his 05 GX, this kit made for 4Runner V8 and the PN is 18747. The installation took about an hour, everything is straight forward and no issue. I took the GX for a drive after the installation, man the sound is awesome from the inside, sounds like a V8, lol. Anyways with normal driving is quiet but once you floor the gas pedal, it will get louder and I love that V8 sound.
According to Volant you suppose to gain anywhere between 10 to 20 horsepowers and a little better gas mileage. I can't really tell if we gain any horsepower with my butt dyno but mentality sounds like his GX is faster, may be because I got used to drive my 04 GX which does not the VVTI engine and his 05 does, I drove mine today and got little disappointment when I floor the gas pedal.
Autoanything.com has the best price on the Volant CAI plus you will get $20 mail in rebate from Volant, I will order one by the end of this month. If
anybody ever need help on install this kit, send me a pm.

yea that doesn't look like a cold air intake to me! Unless there is a funnel that is suppose to connect to front of that box.
Generally speaking performance filters typically don't do a very good job at filtering particles. I'll take engine longevity over 10 hp any day.
