i told you guys i'd do a DIY complete with pics. not a good one but you get to see exactly what this project entails. as i said in nigel's thread it really is an easy install and the toughest part is replacing the pins in the mirror connector....the rest is a cakewalk.
it's funny because you can see all of my errors in some of the pics. they're kind of hard to miss.....just look for wires with electrical tape wrapped around them to insulate where i had spliced into them.
