steering wheel vibration 65-70 MPH

Hey Rosco,
I had my wheels replace at Costco. On the original wheels though, the weight were set on the outside of the tires. However since I was looking for a cooler look, I asked Costco to put them in the inside. The guy warned me though that I could experience vibration when I reach 65-70 mph. Well guess what ? He was right on the money. Right I seem to experience the same thing you are. After my rotation, the steerign wheel does not seem to shake as much as before. I just might go back and have them put the weights outside.
I just can't stand the look though man
Good luck.

I agree. My problem is they used weights on the inside of the wheel and and stick on in the barrel. I dont know why you would counter weight. Either way its smooth sailing after the Roadforce

[QUOTE=ROSCOGX470;5820901]I have a vibration in my steering wheel between 65-70 MPH. I had my wheels speed balanced with no remedy. Is this connected to the TSB for the "clunk fix"? Or could I have a bad belt in a tire? I figured if it was a bad belt than they would not be able to balance my wheels. I did recently get rearended mildly, but there was only a scratch on my bumper- The trailer hitch took most of the impact. Any replies would be appreciated.[/QUOTE

it could be an alignment issue- four x 4s are persnickety about this. also ck out shock mounts and front end joints etc first f. also drive shaft(s) could be out of alignment due to the impact in which case the frame might be tweaked. not an easy thing to rundown if all tires and w3heels are fine. best of luck.
