The vehicles do hold their value well, all things considered. I agree, $35k would be an excellent price. Closer to 40 more realistic .

I have always contended the Lexus car buying experience should stand out from the rest as their cars do in every way. The fact you go round and round with a sales guy who goes back and forth with his sales manager makes you feel no different than a customer at any other dealership, hell even a used car lot.

I know a lot of that has changed for consumers due to the amount of information available online (Edmunds, kbb, fighting chance, carbuyingtips), but it's unfortunate it has to be that way at a lexus dealer.

Interesting thread, please keep us posted.
I am looking around at 07 and 08's ( 25-35k miles) and not finding many deals .
The 08's in Mass (HC,and Watertown) are priced at 42k or so and if you look at the carfax they are not doing anything special to them (in fact I saw one with a dent in the rear). No tires, not brakes-they claim they don't need them but 30k more then half the tread is gone (whats the CPO criteria for tires/brakes ?)
I have seen some 07's further south ( I am in NH and they have none here) in Conn and NY with mid 30-40k miles for $36-37K.I doubt they will drop them more then 1000 no ?

thanks

Let me know if interested. It's a CPO car with time left but I'm getting a HS250H instead...

Sudhs - is $33,500 what the vehicle is worth TO YOU? If so, tell the sales guy to get lost. 99% of the time, their vehicles are overpriced and they laugh at you when you call them out. I had this happen a few months ago when I was looking for a used Sequoia - the sales guy jerked me around for a few days. From day 1, I told him what I was willing to pay for the vehicle, and no more than the amount I quoted. Since it was worth more to the dealership than to me, I ended up picking up a 2004 GX for the same price - yay me! Needless to say, it was from another dealer.

Wow, I had the exact other end of the spectrum. I walked in and was greeted with a bottle of water and a warm hello how can I assist you. We looked at the GX I was interested in (I knew I was going to buy it when we were still 50 yards away from it, love at first sight). We walked back into the dealer, I told them I wanted $21.5K for my trade. They told me they were asking $35K for my 05 GX with 19K miles. I offered $30K and my trade. No complaining, no hassle, they just started the paperwork. I HAD TO ASK if my offer was accepted. She said if it's close in the ballpark, they don't hassle with pricing. Um, SHOCKED.

Then I noticed the vehicle was still within the TSB limits for the clunk. I called in and the service advisor said if the tech does not feel the clunk they WILL NOT do the work. I called back my sales person and she called me back with a date and time including a nice GX460 loaner for next week.

Now based on the above, where do you think I will be buying my next car?

AWESOME SERVICE!!!!

I bought my 04 GX470 fully loaded with 50K miles for $24K. I feel this was a good deal. That being said, an 08 w/ 35K miles should cost you low to mid $30K's.........Keep looking and you'll get a better deal somewhere else.
