First I want to thank you all for your time with answering all my questions and concerns you all have been awesome as always. I made an appointment at Toyota for my oil change and while there I also asked them to order 2 filters for me so next time I can do this myself . I have another question for you. They charged me for 8 quarts of oil is this correct? I thought my truck took 7. I also just pulled out all my service records and they range from 6.5 to 8. What's the right amount ?

It's 6.5 US qt., so the stealer should only charge for 7 quarts.

Thanks so much. I'm going to call the dealer today and question why I was charged for 8 qts. The rest of my paper work either said 6.5 or 7 Never in the 3 yrs that I have own this have I ever seen 8 that is why I questioned this.

I also was checking my manual and could not find the capacity chart. This is why I hate dealerships. Toyota even told me that they were not sure if they could do it since they did not have a Lexus oil filter. I asked them to cross reference and they told me that they could not do this that each has their own.

Good luck. Time to get ready to do your own oil change next time, that way you won't overpay for anything!

The Toyota part # for GX's oil filter is 90915-YZZD3, or NAPA Gold 1348, or Mobil1 M1-102, any of them is good.
