Yesterday I was rear ended in out 04 gx470 by a car and we seem to be doing ok. The damage is to the back bumper, mild scratches etc...the tow mechanism took the main force. You guys with the GXs can you check and see, bseides the beat up plastic, Does it look right? My car did not have the little black square for the tow attachment whatever....so is something bent up or distorted here? Thanks

sorry for your misfortune but glad everyone is ok

doesn't appear to be any damage from your photo and looks like it was a it was a low speed impact. would be able to tell better if you took a shot from underneath and or w/ bumper cover removed.

You don't seem to have the tow package installed, so it looks like you just have the bracket where the tow package would get installed. Another shot as asked for by BurgBoxstr would be helpful.

A frustrated driver cut a lady off and she beeped at him. He slammed his breaks on in front of her, so she did the same. I was lucky to not be tailgating, so I was able to stop too. The guy behind me wasn't so lucky. He smacked in to the back of my GX470. When I went to view the damage, the only thing wrong with my GX was the cap on my tow hitch fell off. The front of his Honda Odyssey was totaled.

If you get a chance, I totally recommend getting the tow package!!!

I had someone rear end me about a month ago, I had a tow hitch so most of the impact was to the hitch. I did get a few scratches on the bumper. I had the hitch replaced and the scratches on the bumper fixed. My body shop took some computerized measurements to make sure the frame was damaged. There was no damage to any parts underneath my bumper but since your bumper took the brunt of the force, there could be underlying damage and possible frame damage. I would at least get a body shop to look at it and possibly measure the frame for any tweaking.

I think you are ok, just need the touch up job except the Tow Cover clasp part ( LH side) has just open downward after the minor impact. That what it seems to it me, when you look at closely.

In all honesty, I am pretty certain there is no significant damage, insurance adjuster wrote up $1600 inadamage, new bumper, paint, new hitch assembly ??? Local shop wrote up $1400. I am replacing the cover in the mmiddle and calling it a day.


Now fellas, will the white cover I am attaching replace mine ? I know there is a smooth one but wont fit over the hitch prep package.
