#18
Jeffo, sorry to get this topic back, it has been almost 7 years that the turn bulb which was since OEM installation, begin to show some kind of color discoloration, And I wanted to replace it. So I started to remove the bulbs, and look what I found. These are OSRAM 1156A LF - Mercury coated bulbs, and not available in the dealer or the online sites. As did during its initial days this was really bright but later faded and began to more whitish. And then I wanted to replace with the Sylvania stuff like you did, more of an orangish color it seems. . Here is the post installation look.
The images are loaded in sequence for info only,
1. The First Image is the OEM Osram Bulb 1156A Mercury Coated.
2. The Second Image is close up of the bulb specs , with the Mercury coat peeled off in certain areas.
3. The New Sylvania fitted.
4. The Turn+DRL on with the Parking LEDs ( wedge type )
I do want to hear from others have they experienced this while replacement that have they found the Mercury coated bulbs within.

Nopes, the parking Lite is white and the DRL+turn continues to be Amber. But the Parking lite gets activated in park mode via the multiswitch & gets deactivated when in Headlamp mode. The DRL+turn is a single filament bulb but has a dual function, it is just when the turn gets activated manually by the driver, the DRL goes off. Hope this is what you requested. cheers

Hi guys. I have the capability to get many of those part stores to change their application data for the turn signal. This would help anyone else that goes to an auto store to get the correct part number instead of being given a 4157 or another wrong lamp. I would like to verify a few things first though.
Lexus informed me that the bulb has offset pins. To me this indicates it would be an 1157NA. The 1156NA has pins that are level with each other. Could someone double check whether the pins are level with each other or if one is higher than the other. Also if you could tell me whether there is 1 or 2 filaments inside of this bulb it would help me narrow down the possibilities.
Thank you!

This image attached should solve all your doubts, GX Models from 2003-2009 the headlamps design has not changed either Exterior or Interior. So If lexus is telling you this, Simple he is not aware of his subject. I just replaced mine last week and here is one which was removed. And I replaced with Sylvania 1156. Hope this helps.

Question
Does this advice hold true for both sides? I replaced mine from above on the non-battery side with little problem, but when I looked at the side with the battery, I saw there may be trouble changing it...
