Had to get a replacement battery for my 04 GX470. The garage replaced mine with the same model. Turns out the model changed, poles were reversed and I hooked it up backwards. Realized I did something stupid so I took it back and got another replacement.

It cranks over now but I have no display screen, radio, climate control, power windows, power seats, and I'm guessing more.

Anyone who owns a GX 470 know exactly which fuses I may have blown? Is there a main fuse that controls all of these things? I am guessing a few in my engine compartment as well as the drivers side kick. Thing is, not sure how to tell if the engine compartment fuses are blown or not.

It's easy. just pull them out and take a look, or if you have a test light, hook it up to a ground and test both of the top terminals on each fuse with the engine running. if one side has power while the other doesn't. then that is your blown fuse.

Oh, and any garage that replaces a battery with another with swapped terminals, doesn't belong ANYWHERE near a vehicle electrical system!

Another thing, I can get it in drive with the manual override switch but I do not have any acceleration. As in, my gas pedal does nothing. Any ideas? The clock, computer display screen, radio, power doors/seats still do not work.

Is the truck sluggish, or does it just do NOTHING when you push the gas?

it turns out the fusible link (140 A) was the problem. I was able to get one for $15 and change from the Toyota dealership. But now my VSC OFF light is one, ABS light, and some other light and my headlights are out. Turn signals and parking lights work, just no low beams and high beams. I checked the 5 10A fuses in the engine compartment but they all seem fine. Maybe the HEAD relay?

the thing that was causing it not to throttle when i hit the accelerator was the ETC electronic throttle control (10A) fuse.
