Radio No longer Works
I tried searching but no answers.
2003 GX470, this issue started last year. The radio would go out and when starting the car, you would hear a pop come from the speakers. But after a couple of times starting the car, it would start to work again.
Yesterday, it happened again but this time it is no longer working. I do keep hearing the popping sound when starting the car. Also of course the popping sound only happens when the radio is in the on state.
If it is not the fuses, can it be the amp and if so where is the amp located? Thanks!

If you remove the radio unit assy, the rear of the unit is got a spiral kind of cable sub assy and the radio receiver assy. Remove the harness and check for connectivity, if it is dead you could have it replaced, or if it loose contact, have the area blow dry for dust particles and used a Electrical Circuit spray cleaner, and have the harness re-connected, and check it out.

Update....I am still seeing the problem. I checked on back of the radio, all plugs are tight, I even unplugged everything and plugged it back in. I then checked the plugs on the AMP, I noticed one of the plugs does not snap but its snug.
I had my brother-in-law swing his GX470 by after removing my amp that has been sitting in my garage for a couple of weeks. I plugged my amp in on his GX470 and I heard crackling sound and the radio worked. I then take my amp back to my GX470 and the radio works. I thought the issues was the connector since on his GX470 both plugs snapped into the AMP.
My next step is to try to plug my amp back into his GX470 when its not working in my car and that would exactly tell me if its AMP issue or Adapter issue.
But why does it work after being down for a couple of weeks? Driving me nuts. Plus Lexus wants $700+ and my amp for me to get a refurbished one.
