Question Insert Piece for Cupholder

I have a 2006 GX with a grey interior. The shallow cup holder in the center console is missing the small plastic piece that fits between the two recesses. Without that piece, those two cupholders are basically unusable.

I've called the Parts Dept. at my local dealership and they can only order me an entire new cupholder assembly...for $174. I've also checked eBay, other forums, junk yard websites, etc. but have yet to find a place where I can buy this part.

I'd rather not have to pay $174 just to get that tiny plastic piece, so I am open to any suggestions that you guys may have.

Thanks!

Keep checking ebay. I have seen them on there from time to time.

Definitely watch e-bay.

I broke mine a while back, and there happened to be one listed right at that time. I think I paid 25 bucks for it.

I wonder if this one would work??? It's being sold by a Lexus dealer might be worth asking them. It looks identical to the one in my truck, but hard to tell if the dimensions are the same. It might even be worth running up to your local Lexus parts dept and comparing them.

Call your local auto salvage yard. Ask if they have any GX's. I sure it won't be damaged in a crash and they will not charge a lot.

I finally found an OEM cupholder insert on Ebay. I just bought it last night so I should be receiving it in a few days. Before I get my hopes up, can someone please look at the attached picture and confirm that it looks like it will work in my GX?

Thanks.

next time you lost one of that again... follow this easy directions:
1. walk right into the show room.
2. find a GX470 floor model.
3. open door and seat yourself, preferrably by the driver's side.
4. check to see if the cup holder has one.
5. ...
hey I did not say anything...

common guys, its friday night and i have nothing else to do

Thanks redrocks, for the part number. I think someone was setting in my car on the showroom floor before I bought it and ...... Didn't know any better at that time that it was missing. I did see that someone had take the manual out of it and they borrowed one out of another car on the lot. I figure that the last GX sold on the lot, was probably completely stripped.

Mine's failed as well - I could see $6-$8 which would be closer to cost but I can't see $28.

I think it;s $20 with the CL discount. (vs $70 on eBay)
