I used sharpie marker on the sensor cover to fake out the sensor a bit. So the headlights turn on at brighter.

that's awesome - i wonder if there's a cap you can stick over it. i may just do that. in some countries, you have to have headlights on all the time.

You can put a dashboard cover on as another option.

i'm at the dealership now - i had them bump it up to 4. i just want it to turn on when it's raining outside. right now, it doesn't turn on and this was the same thing as when i had my 4runner which has the same auto lights function. setting is 1-5. default is at 3.

If you hold (forward/back) the station button on the steering wheel (while listening to radio), you will hear a beep and the system will seek the next station (not the presets).

On the nav, if you press the map button as you are driving it will display the current street address number. This is very helpful when looking for house address number, especially at night.

On the 6 Disc changer, if you press and hold the rocker on the steering wheel to go forward or backward it will also switch between the different cd/dvd.

Press and hold the mode button on the steering wheel and the stereo will turn on/off.

On the 4Runner there is a tissue box holder under the center consol arm rest and there are grocery bag clips just behind the center consol in the rear seat foot area.

When using the BT phone you can adjust the call volume with the volume buttons on the steering wheel.

i'm pretty amazed at how many people didn't knw about the ignition thing. i liked it on my 4r and like it on the gx.

should go without saying that you guys know about the whole unlock all doors when moving shifter to P and lock all doors when car exceeds 12mph (my preferred settings).

also one button press unlock unlocks all doors (my preferred setting).

when you depress the child window lock it turns off illumination for all switches except the drivers switch. i thought that was a nice touch.

If you hold your unlock button on the key for a couple of seconds this will lower all your windows and open up the moon roof. I only had the truck for 3 years and never did I know this. I thought the only way to do this was to use the key on the drivers side door.
Along with this:

If you use the key int the door and hold to unlock, the windows/roof open. Hold it to lock to roll them up, then tap unlock and all the windows & roof will vent to about 1/2 inch but the vehicle remains locked.

This feature is common on some luxury car so that you don't restart the engine or damage something. Our old 90s Cadiilac had this feature. The theory is that the engine is so quiet, you don't know its running.
