Default GX470 Boring to drive! Unless Taken Off-Road.

Does anyone think that the Gx470 is somewhat boring to drive. Does anyone take their vehicle offroad? Anyone from Seattle area?

The GS470 is full size SUV, not a 2 door sports coupe

G MAN...sounds like the Red Sox disappointed you last night. LOL

I do have to agree with the G MAN though, what kind of excitement can you expect from any SUV unless you want to either die or take it off roading?

"Boring" is not a word I would use to describe the driving experience. It certainly is not exciting, but it is what I expect. Comfort was a more important factor for me when I was shopping SUVs. If I was going after an exciting driving experience I would have gone the Jeep SRT8, or Cayanne Turbo route.

The excitement bar is definitely raised a few notches when I hit the sand dunes at the beach or plow through snow heading up the mountains to go skiing.

Nah, the sox gave us that magical 6th game. It was one of the best red sox game I have seen in a long time.

If you guys want excitement, try to drive the GX on the highway doing 90 MPH on a windy day. That will get your heart pumping for sure

Will you take your GX off-road?? Hehe, if you think that your GX is boring on the road, then you need to take a G-wagen for a testdrive! That thing will bore you to death on the road!

Boring? That could actually be a good thing - means there's no annoying rattles to **** you off, etc I took my GX on a relatively fast (80mph) cruise from Orlando to Tampa on business last week and I was reminded once again at what an awesome highway cruiser it was. I typed in the destination on the nav and cranked up the 14 speaker ML system and I was one happy camper - arrived at my conference refreshed and ready to go. Speaking of camping, I took the GX camping over the weekend - again it performed flawlessly and I had complete confidence driving it around on some sandy trails. There were a couple of newer Range Rovers out there which I admit have a bit more flash and style then the GX, but not once did I regret having my GX instead because we all know the crappy quality of the Range Rovers - pretty much dead last.

So yes it may be boring to some but to me the GX is a vehicle that just quietly goes about it's business of providing quality and luxury in a vehicle that isn't afraid to drive in the dirt too.

We love our GX. If I want excitement, the wife and I would jump in the SC, spool up the twins and go HEMI hunting. Considering my wife treats the GX like a second home, with supplies for the baby and her work. When we go on a road trip, we want no drama.
