Default 2004 GX470 ~ Great but Navigation Gripes

Boring Prelog:
I have had my '04 GX470 for 3.5 years now and my lease is up. My intention was to replace it with another vehicle since I have had it a long time for me. I looked around, drove a few cars, and came back to the GX. Looked at the a new model and WOW the Navigation is much better; not really the actual Nav but the user interface and general flow (?). The problem is that the '08 GX is @ $45 or so loaded up to match mine. I can buy mine for $24k and with 42k miles. Its impossible to logically update to the same exact rig (minor VVT stuff aside) for $21k so I think I am going to keep mine.

I can't figure out whether any of the Coastal Tech stuff will work with an '04. I have the old school DVD override switch but it would be worth $100 to get rid of the "I Agree" and be able to input Nav Instruction on the move. Any insight? Emails to them have gone unanswered and there application page doesn't give me any clue. Not sure what the symbols mean.

Worthless Gripe:
I wish the firmware on the older units could be updated to mimic more closely that of the current unit. It seems as though it would be entirely possible and likely pretty easy. Next Bluetooth; we have voice input so the mic is there how about a bluetooth module too. With the XM Sat equip, Parrot Bluetooth, DVD override switch my console is starting to look like a friggen taxi.

There I feel better. Looks like I am here to stay, after 42k miles this is all I have to complain about.

Congrats on staying - it realy is a good vehicle. Having said that, based on how difficult SUV sales are across the country, you might want to play a little liars poker w/ your leasing company (especially if it's LFS). Lot's of SUVs are sitting around on used car lots collecting dust. You might be able to get the payoff lowered some just os they don't have to deal w/ it or have them throw in an extended warranty for you to keep, etc. If it doesn't work, worst case scenario you can always walk in w/ a check at the last minute and buy it out at the residual. Just some thoughts
