directfml, I have the flat plat cover on my GX as well, so you should have the same setup/issues I am having with the factory hardware. I plan to go to my brother's shop tomorrow morning at 10am PST to get it hooked up. I'll definitely post the final outcome.

Removed the brakets and no bolt locations for the head. So we mounted it on the side frames and that is all for now. There is about a 2.75 inch gap between the metal frame and the head of the hitch. I did not have time today, but will weld a couple more plats to the space plates in came with to fill the gap and them weld it all together. Aside looks good. Did not have my camera with me, or cell phone(left at work), so no pics yet. The dealer told me without the head supported, it would be okay, just should really only tow about 4500lbs-5000lbs. Not doing any towing yet anyway and should have the welding done by then.
