You are right the offset is different. The Factory GX wheel is et25 and the FJ is et15. All this does is push the wheel 10mm towards the outside of the wheel well which gives it a slightly wider stance. In my opinion it looks better. In my post, which is referenced above, you can see pics on page two and read more about what I am running.

In that case I may leave the snows on the OEM and put 285's on the FJ wheels now that I will have more room since the rim is pushed outward!
Thanks
I am looking at Toyo Proxie ST 285/55/17 with the same diameter as OEM's.
cmarshack...did you hook up the Tire pressure monitors to the FJ wheels? if so was it a simple swap or did you have to band them to the wheel?
I just ordered some sensors from Carson at 25% off dealer price. Still about $88 each with the mounting kit. You see them on e-bay used from time to time but did not want to chance it. Install look real easy. Will post pic after I get them.

The install is really easy. I did it on my t4r limited wheels. The trick is to get them torqued correctly. Very low torque (IIRC it's in inch-lbs). My guess is the monkeys at the tire shops don't use a torque wrench on them, but I went to the trouble of doing it on mine. Good excuse to buy another torque wrench
Find something to slide between the side of the monitor and the rim so it doesn't rotate and come in contact w/the rim when you tighten the nut. I used an old wood ruler.
