yea i know it was really unsafe but it was a straight, nobody was coming, so i figure i'd see what the gx could do. Don't worry, my gx won't ever see that again. Ever since then i haven't had it go over 90. 80 when i'm on the interstate and following the flow if too many passes by.

No issues at top speed noted for the 2010 GX460. The limit is typically an arbitrary number for almost all Toyota products. The GX460 is a truck and is fine in most driving situations. Its the adverse that is beyond it's limits. Once out; there's little chance of getting it back. With that I wouldn't push the GX460 past 130 mph on those H rated tires and high centered ride height. You could without question go faster; but if you can, then you don't have a real need for a GX460. My truck is usually loaded with gear, additional people, and tires with a a balance of on and off road abilities when in use. I bought it for what it can do well, not for speed (I ditched my SL for a GX).

There is absolutely zero legal or moral reason to want to remove a top speed limiter and drive on a public roadway in any civilized society. And for those in North America you'll never do the Texas mile or Bonneville in a GX so what's the point to remove the top speed limiter in a BRICK with a high center of gravity? Clearly the GX is the wrong vehicle for you if you want to do anything more than ~85 mph in one. I get the need to go fast, that's the world I came from before I switched to off-roading, however I just don't approve of this sort of thing on public roadways because you endanger others (I don't care about your personal safety, I care about others) and that's the only reason why you'd want to remove the top speed limiter. I'm not sorry I'm Mr Buzzkillington here, but it had to be said and I guess that comes with age and life experience.. I lost a good friend to someone who was going well over 100 on the highway and lost control.

To the OP, dude, if you really do own those cars in your signature and you live "international" (which I suspect is either Saudi Arabia or UAE) then what the hell are you doing in a GX that you need to go faster than 115 mph? You should know better to never try such things in a vehicle designed for the complete opposite application in mind. If you have these vehicles then why not buy a Bentayga instead of a GX? A GX (Land Cruiser Prado) is a slow 4WD crawler not a speed demon.

Default Safety is a factor.

I agree with the safety issue, Yet the GX460 is fully capable of being driven at 115 mph. And even at that speed it is a well mannered vehicle. We'll never see those speeds in America as people don't take driving on the highway seriously. There will never be an Autobahn in the states. Too much NASCAR mentality on the road and a clear lack of required skills and discipline. The majority of fatal accidents occur in the US at night. This is why I believe that road tests should be conducted at night in addition to day time testing. Your focus should be on driving while driving and if you mind starts to wonder; take a break. Just like "Mr Torgue" I also come from the sports car world. Be safe out there on the road and be nice to your online community. We all know how dangerous it is to operate any vehicle at excessive speeds, but the question was "How to delete the top speed limiter" and not why you should or shouldn't.

I've driven mine on SH-130 outside Austin, which currently has the fastest legal speed limit in the US at 85 mph.

I had fresh tires and the shocks were on full sport, and it just wasn't feeling good at those speeds (or a little higher, to be honest). Mostly it was aero issues, with a huge air bubble forming under the vehicle and causing lift.
