Yep, you're right. In all my past trips up and down east coast beaches, I've often ran into guys airing down their 24"s.

Back to the shoe analogy i guess.
If i wanted to Go wheel'n i guess id have a TIRE for that. But i bought my Lexus for the luxury and comfort. I have a little 2nd gen Yoda' for wheeln' and fun.
Just face it, big rims are here to stay. Get on the internet and look around
There are offroad tires for big rims now. And it is all about style, and personal preferance. Otherwise nothing would change, nothing. If you couldn't decide what you liked based on you style and personal preferance, then why would we have 100's of different vehicals to choose from, and why would you choose acertain one out of all of them? Its your preferance
I bought my GX with 22's in mind before i signed away. I like the style, thats me, i think it makes it look classier. Maybe even some 20's, now that i have seen a number of owners with a 20" rim, i think they look good also.
As for the earlier comment of the ultimate offroad vehical. Not in my eyes. I love the offroad capabilities, don't get me wrong. It was a great SUV all winter and got thru every type of weather the midwest handed down, and I never touched the locking differential. But as offroad as i might get would be a gravel road or dirt road, nothing extreme.
If i wanna play in the snow, mud, or trails i'll grab somthing that i won't care if i mess up.
