MP3 on Mark Levinson
Can the changer on the Mark Levinson play MP3's? Burned a CD full of MP3's and the changer does not recognize the disk. Not sure if the format is bad or what...
This is in a 2005 GX470 if it matters...
Anyone know if the changer can do MP3?

The sad and short answer is NO - unless you get the 07GX which will have the Gen5 Nav system and newer sound system. My 06GX cannot play mp3 CDs, but my 07RX can. You should be able to make a mix of regular audio music and play it in the GX with no problem.

I've been burning my own CDs for over 10 years using a stand alone Phillips CD Burner connected to my home stereo. These CDs play in my GX unless a label is even slightly loose. My Touareg and Explorers played my CDs even with a torn or loose label but they sure didn't sound as good as on the ML system.

I have mostly used burned CDs in my autos for years (don't like leaving originals in the sun and cold, even if it is just an exact copy.) Just about any CD player should play burned audio CDs.

I used the Ulead's Burn Now tool to create an Audio DVD with 99 songs on it. It plays through the ML DVD player in the center console, not the CD player in the glove box. It plays well, but there is no song/artist data.

Burn Now is available as a trial piece of software. It is drag and drop , and pretty straight foward. No M4A or WMA support from the gui tool, but it gets the job done. I am sure I could work around that if I were motivated enough.
I had to use this post to copy over a required file that resolves an error that I encountered. http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=571622. Support is limited for the trial version, but it met my needs. Hope this helps.
