900 is right. My 4Runner door was super heavy (comparably speaking). And it would always hit the top of the garage door if the truck wasn't in far enough. With the GX being higher, it would always hit the door no matter. Sounds like a logical explanation to me.

I doubt seriously we will open the ones in the GX very often, and I am not looking forward to the first time my 6 year old opens one, doesn't tell me, and it ends up staying open in a rainstorm...
Holding a button down seems a bit easier to do than crawling to the back of the car to open a window. I've seen Chrysler Minivans that open quite nicely in the rear with a button on the driver's door.

Question

Obviously they didn't get the message.

Does anyone know why they insist on the barn door?

No idea.

I've owned 3 Honda CRX's. I could transport 8' 2x4's inside a CRX with the rear hatch closed. I was initially disappointed with the cargo configuration of the GX. Then, (duh), I realized the the GX has a ROOF RACK! Now that I've figured out how to use the barn door lock and the roof rack, the barn door isn't so bad after all.

If you go to a country that drives on the right hand drive you'll see why, for me its not a big deal on the plus side I don't need to worry about replacing the struts.
