I was just taking a trip to Newport, RI for the Jewish holiday and I was driving the GX. On the highway, I slowed quickly and my big water bottle must have rolled and pressed the button without me noticing, locking the center differential . The traffic cleared and I was able to drive over 60 MPH again. About 5 minutes down the road, I noticed the VSC light and the differential locking light on. I started saying obsenities and getting angry.

What damage could have been done? The truck is driving like normal now, but could something have happened I don't notice.

I'm going to Lexus soon anyway so should I have them look at anything?

I vaguely remember someone else here doing something similar a few months back. I don't remember the result of the discussion, but you might be able to search for it.

If I remember right, you can only lock the differential in L1/L2 & H1/H2? So, if you are in Drive, the differential light would be On and the VSC indicator flashing, but I suspect neither are actually engaged. This is off memory, so I apologize if I'm mistaken. I know for certain that the height control automatically defaults to "N" when you go over 18mph-which really bugs me.

Don't be hard on yourself, my wife has called me TWICE in a panic that the GX was acting weird and would not go over 45 mph on the freeway. Evidently one of my two sons likes to shift into 4Low, probably because they like to watch Mom freak-out.
