I am going to buy a GX470 this week and can't make up my mind on the best color. I like the Pine Silver and the Ash Blue Mica. I have not seen the ash Blue Mica in person yet. I don't want a dark color as I have had black cars before and they are too hard to keep clean. I don't want white either. Please give me some feedback if you think the GX470 looks good in the colors I have mentioned.

Keith, I had the very same decision to make 3 weeks ago. I knew I wanted Sport Pkg, which narrows down the exterior color choices to: Black, Blue Meridian, Silver Pine and Ash Blue Mica (coz White and Gold color don't come with Sport Pkg).

But Black and Dark Blue I did not want coz it is hard to keep clean. My wife preferred Ash Blue Mica and I preferred Silver. SO we decided to check out the color at the dealers' lots to see it in person and a choice was made: SILVER PINE and we never regret it.

But this is really a personal choice, so you should go check the colors out . In any case GX is a nice car and you will enjoy it. Good luck!

I also had the same question. When I finally saw the Ash blue, it wasn't "blue" enough. I went Silver w/ gry leather. Added chrome wheels. It looks good !

hmm, strange. by now you should have seen an Ash Blue Mica GX. the only color you would never see (or VERY VERY RARELY) would be Sand Dollar Pearl.

Ash Blue's kinda leaning towards the darker side.

I have ash blue mica and it is not dark at all unlike the blue meridian.
My wife and I love this color, depending angle on the light shining on it, it gives a different hue of blue.

Sand dollar pearl is still on the GX. My wife has an 03 Sand dollar pearl GX. I am considering colors for a 05 GX (Sports Pkg) and I like Ash Blue Mica/Gray, however there is a black GX/ivory with the Sports Pkg that I really like. . . .

Isnt Ash Blue the one that Lexus marketed... I know they marketed all but wasnt it introduced on the first GX

I am obviously biased but Ash Blue Mica is the best for a few reasons. It's not too common, very easy to clean and keep clean. It's hard to tell if the truck is clean or dirty sometimes. Dirt doesn't show very well. I guess the "Ash" in Ash Blue blends the dirt in really well.

Have had black before, and didn't trust my instincts on how tough it is to keep clean. I love the silver and ash blue. Unless you live in San Diego with their perfect weather & perfect roads, stay away from black!

I second that. The ash blue is leaning towards a charcoal-ish color. It hides dirt almost as well as silver. I made the same choice when I bought mine. At first I thought of getting silver. Then I saw the Ash Blue at a local car show and it was love at first sight.

But it really is a personal choice. I never really see ash blue sitting on the lot. I think they spec white and silver since they are more common and you typically have to request ash blue. So they are typically only on the lot between truck delivery and when the buyer picks it up. Tell the dealer to give you a call when they get an ash blue in before you make a decision.
