GX 470 OEM tires

Don't believe it works that way (i.e. brand of tire is not tied to a car color).
They seem to run in batches, no real control on predicting.
However, you might have some luck, if you tell your salesman it's a make or break for you, and get them to switch them when the car arrives at the dealer.

Yeah they make them in batches. Got mine this weekend and it had Michelins. I asked them to make sure it had Michelins. The salesman spoke with the service manager and he said all of them had MIchelins lately. I have not seen one on any of the three dealers I went to without Michelins. Mine's build date was March 05. As said above just demand Michelins.
Maybe they switched the GXs to Michelins now, because of all the vibration complaints. Dunno

I took delivery of my GX in Mid April and it had Michelins OEM tires.
When I had negotiated the deal, I had told my salesman that I want Michelin tires on the GX, and would want them swapped if the oem were different. The dealer agreed, but never needed to change them.

Guys,
Thanks for your inputs.
I went to a NY dealership just to check out the tires and exterior color. There were 3 new '05 GX on the lot.
- A fully loaded ash blue mica w/ sport pkg has Michelin on.
- Another ash blue mica, no sport pkg has Dunlop on.
- A gold color one without sport pkg has Michelin on.
So I thought Michelin came with certain color/trim/pkg only. Anyway will be sure to negotiate with saleman to have Michelin for the GX I am going to get. Michelin is just so much better on handling...

Michelin X-Terrains

Bought my 04 GX in Dec of 03. It came with Bridgestones. The truck had a slight front-end vibration at about 60 MPH.
Having had read on this forum the problems with front-end vibrations, I immediately bought and had installed on the truck, Michelin X-Terrains. The vibration went away. Every 5000 miles when I have the oil changed with synthetic oil, I take the GX to where I bought the tires and have them rotated for free. I also have the front wheels balanced.
The GX now has 26,000 miles on it and the tires look like new. Best of all, have had NO vibrations of any kind.

So it is pretty much random,...I am gonna demand for Michelin on mine. Thanks.

Go to www.tirerack.com and checkout the Michelin Cross terrains compared to the Dunflops and the Brigstones. The survey results are all great for the Michelins and crap for the others. The Michelins also sell for twice as much as the others. What I don't understand is that they also do the same for the 4runners, some SR5's have the Michelins and Limiteds have the Dunflops. Just doesn't make sense. I also had the dealer switch my tires so I got the Michelins and now with over 20K miles they still look new. I rotate every 8K miles.

so the real question
So here is the real question...
With all of the folks who have complained about the dreaded "vibration"...... What tires are you rolling on?? Michelin or Bridgestone.....
Might have something here - On my old 4runner - It came with bridgestones... They were horrible, thus after 32k I dumped them for Michelins.....
The Michelins were still rolling strong and true at 85k when I sold it for the GX.
