Default Rock Chip On The Front Windshield

I did, but I had a new windshield installed. At the time I had about 15,000 miles on the truck after having gone across the Country twice. The difference in the glass was remarkable, as it's unbelievable how many small pits accumulate in time. It was the best $100 spent.

Default Use Rockblocker for paint...

No chips in windshield nor paint as I had the Suburu/Armadillo guys at the Charlotte event put the Rockblocker on mine therefore I have no chips in the paint. Pretty good $'s spent if you ask me.

on my GX. weird how my odyssey doesn't have a lot of those (well probably becuz i don't use it out of town, unlike the GX) but instead has a somewhat deep rock chip on the top left of the windshield. didn't replace it though. i don't want any problems with water sealing, size, or whatever that may happen. Unless someone breaks the whole glass or a big crack across the windshield, I'm not replacing any windshield!

actually the story about how i got all the little rock chips on the windshield of my GX was during an out of town trip to Vegas. Drove the GX from Fresno, CA to Vegas. Along the way, there was a narrow bridge and there was a dump truck with rocks in it. now i didn't want to stay behind it to avoid rocks flying into my windshield so i sped up and overtook him. while overtaking him, this little bridge had a lot of potholes in it. Unfortunately when I drove over the bridge, that was when the truck too was driving over it and , BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM. lots of little rocks flew into my windshield! I inspected it at a gas station and found one big paint chip next to my grille. Decided to clean the windshield with the windshield cleaner squeege (sorry if i mispelled that) and looked thru it from the inside. I saw sparkling things on my windshield ( but not the type of sparkling things you would want like a diamond or something) and I ran my finger over some of them, felt the roughness of them.

So i guess i'll have to live with it now!

I can't tell a new windshield has been installed. Only way I can tell is that the TOYOTA logo is not found anywhere. Also, that it is clear of any pits.

Thumbs up Insurance Company will pay no deductible!

Most insurance companies will pay to fix a small chip or spider in a windshield if it means they will be stopping it from getting worse. Progressive Insurance did it for me. Allstate also I believe will do this.

Check your policy. You might get them to come out and take care of this at no charge. It will end up saving you and them money in the long run.

If you guys replace it, you don't do it through Lexus?

What happens to the rain-sensing wipers?

Just a Q
