Default Does your rear air conditioner produce heat?

So, I just found out that my rear A/C does not produce any heat at all. HELP!!
Even I push all the way to the red end, it still gives me lot of cold air? Please let me know if yours is the same, or mine has a problem. Thanks

Exactly, it is as you called it, rear A/C. It is not supposed to produce heat. I have no idea why Lexus did it this way, though I've been told that the ducts under the front seats blow more than enough warm air into the rear of the truck when in heating mode.

Hot air moves upwards that is why lexus uses lower vents for heat. In the front we have both upper and lower vents, but rear has only upper vents. That could be the issue.

I have never noticed it because I do not use much heating here in CA except for a short duration sometimes when the car feels too cold in morning.

I haven't used the rear ac yet but will try and see.
However, I do notice that the front ac even with the max setting is not as cold as my old 99GS3

Yeah, its just A/C in everyone's. Anyway, when it is warm though, it feels good in the back to get that fresh air blown mildy at your face (while playing PS2).As for the heat, in my old minivan (what a Piece Of Scrap), ther were seperate controls for heat in the back that did a nice job, but the darn thing was so big that it took both to actually get it to a comfortable temperature in the winter up in NJ; but our GXs don't realy need that extra heat, the front system with underseat ducts for the rear does a great job.

But maybe after having that Honda, to me a blow dryer does a great job at providing heat

Default Rear A/C system on GX470

The GX470 Rear AC has a plus/minus control in the rear of the center console. The air ducts are in the ceiling. This system is only for A/C. Heater ducts are under the seats and controlled in the front climate controls. The LX470 has both heat and A/C and a slide temp control in the ceiling. You need to get something for the extra $15,000.
