4everlexus,
That is the factor towing option. To be honest with you, I don't even know how it works . Never used a hitch before in my life. I guess I find out when I decide to tow something.

I am still looking into the tow hitch thing and for some reason, and please don't take offense, but your install appears to be aftermarket versus OEM? Take a look below...yours vs Lexus website. Then again, maybe the pic I am posting is not the 6,500lb capacity I have read about. I wish someone would weigh in on this?

You can tell by the decal on the hitch that it is not OEM. On mine it had a U-Haul decal, but the hitch was made by Curt.

Besides offroading, I have also used the height adjustment to connect and disconnect from my boat. Back up, lower the rear then put back to normal after the ball is under the boat. Reverse to disconnect from the boat. Reduces all the hand-cranking... yes I'm lazy

BTW, my GX (2005) does NOT auto-lower to the lowest setting when turned off. I just measured it after sitting 14+ hours off. Still at the N height. Measured at the back bumber in the middle.

You can't read the letters on the pictures (low res image). I'll post a better picture, but it is definitely Lexus OEM hitch. The rubber decal cover said Lexus. If you dont believe me, just go check it out at the dealer. Dude, if you don't like it. Don't buy it. IMO it looks more rugged than without the hitch.

Please Consult Your Owners Manual for Proper Towing Techniques, etc.
I'm 100% postive it is a Lexus Hitch - and I agree and think the vehicle looks more rugged as well with it.

My personal opinion (as all opinions are!) is that the Black Maple and all Gray interior is too much, too dark, too drab.
