Lots of Miles
I just looked at the new GX470 at the Indianapolis Auto Show. Put down money for the Model on the floor at the show as it was the only GX left without Ivory Interior. Question to you Lexus drivers.
Would you worry about putting 45-50,000 miles a year on a GX 470?
My 2003 Murano which is 15 months old now has 70,000 miles on it and the value of it is pretty low. I use if for business and need the room a SUV provides so a car is out.
I am pretty nervous about driving a Lexus and paying close to $50,000 for a vehicle that will have that many miles on it in 15 mos.
Any thoughts to ease my mind on purchasing?

Your GX will be worth less then 1 with 12-20k but that’s with any vehicle, mileage is the #1 factor in depreciation
But I think your main concern would be how the vehicle will hold up with that many miles, is your Murano not all that it should be, the GX470 has an engine that can go 500k and is built for the long haul for those that do actually put that many miles on them, I feel you on the high mileage but to be honest with the GX I would not be concerned.
off topic: what do you do that puts that many miles on it,

I ran a search at Kelly Blue Book for a 2003 GX w/90,000 miles in "good" condition and no extra options, and came up with a current trade in value of $23,050. Not bad considering the miles.
Also, if this is a business vehicle and purchased by the business, you can still take the rapid depreciation deduction in the year of purchase. Although the law changed and limited it to a $25,000 deduction instead of full value, it is still could have some significant tax savings depending on the particular business situation.

No problems
I got the first GX from my dealer back in 2003. I have 51,000 miles and have encountered zero problems - nada, zilch, nothing. I am trading in for a 2005 in a few weeks but only because I like new toys (bluetooth, etc)...the truck seems to be in fine shape.
Dealer is offering $28,000 as trade (fully loaded) for perspective.
I'd say you are more likely to be happy with a Lexus than any other make - its all about reliability.
Good luck

It should last forever, it's a Toyota!
I have an 14 month old '04 GX470 with 45,000, which I bought new. Also have a 97 4Runner with 235,000, also bought new, still runs well and looks good..
I have the oil changed every 5K miles and generally ignore most of the minor service procedures.
I have had 4 BMWs, 1 Honda, many Toyotas and 1 Porsche. Toyotas are by far the best, but BMW's are more fun! Currently own 3 toyotas plus GX.
At lunch today we were talking cars. It is hard to find a deal on a used Toyota as they hold their value so well, I usually buy new.
Don't worry.

No Worries
My family is a Lexus family for good reason. I have a 1992 ES300 with 320,000 miles and counting. No major problems, all original engine, tranny, drivetrain, etc. Also we drive a lot and we''ve had our '04 GX470 since March and it has about 18k miles. No major problems except for a slight shudder felt when the car comes to a complete stop at a light.
