Default Bluetooth Phones

Will any Bluetooth phones work with the 2005 GX? I am most wondering about Sprint’s new Treo 650. Thanks.

I don't know if there is a published list of compatible phones, but I can report that the Nokia 6820 works fine with the 4th generation nav syst***s bluetooth capability. What a great feature! Once the phone has been paired with the car it just works. Whenever you get in the car, the car's hands free system takes over so that when someone calls your cell, the audio system goes quiet and you phone rings through the speakers and you talk without having to hold the phone or have something sticking in your ear.

I've used mine going down the freeway at 75 mph and the party at the other end reported no road noise could be heard. They really need to put these in all cars.

One feature that will vary between phones is the ability to send your entire phonebook from your cell phone to the Lexus system. On the Nokia I have to send one phone number at a time. Reportedly, some of the Motorola phones can send the entire phonebook in one transaction -- but then you'd have to use a Motorola phone

FYI - The TREO's do not appear to "play well" with others. See the thread titled "Gx 470". Seems pretty mis-titled since this is the GX470 forum, that means it is saying GX470/GX470... Not too descriptive, but is about the limited choices of Verizon compatible bluetooth phones. Maybe a mod could re-title it?

Using Sony Ericsson T610, you can transfer the whole phonebook in one transaction as well. I just did it last week. However, if a contact has more than one # (e.g. work, home, cell), only the first one will be uploaded.
Apart from that, it' s works great (I tried it at 80 MPH).
