Default Hauling your Christmas Tree

Another first for me this year: getting a real Christmas tree for our 1st home. Any thing I should be careful of before having someone at the Home Depot strap the tree onto the GX?

I'd wrap the tree up in a sheet or one of those large pieces of plastic first. That way, it should protect your GX from getting scratched by the branches and needles.

Also, put an old blanket on the top of the GX and underneath the tree for added protection.

Watch out for sap dropping on the paint.

Default Tree hauling

Cam,

Pretty much what everyone else said and make sure the trunk is facing front. If you are hitting a highway at all - also make sure that the trunk is pulled down tight - at speeds over 40 it will start to lift on you.

Default Tree

Just rent the truck for $20 bucks! You 'll regret putting that tree on top your baby.

I KNEW I would find a use for my old RX300. Thanks guys!

PS - It's for sale in the classifieds section of this site as well as on autotrader...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I used a moving blanket to cover the entire top of the GX - much more cushion than a sheet would provide. The tree was netted then tied on top of the moving blanket. I only live about 1.5 miles away so the tree wasn't even up there long.

That's EXACTLY how I do it every year - works for me!
