There was a question of sorts, as to whether a KDSS equipped 2004 GX had a different GVW compared to one without that option.

I would get the GX, I made the same choice between a new 2004 4runner V8 Sport edition and a used 2000/2001 Landcruisers with around 50-60K miles (both about the same $$$). If I had plans to off road and needed the very best off road vehicle, between these two I would of gone for the Landcruiser. But I don't drive high dollar vehicles into the woods. That's what feet or beaters with 100K+ miles on them are for. JMHO

Another thing to consider since you live in the high speed world of Atlanta, safety. Since the LX is bigger and weighs more it is going to be a little safer.

Maybe the one you checked has KDSS so the GVWR is lower, I don't know.
all i heard before was that the KDSS should add more GVWR. oh well, maybe the 05s will be 6150.

Does the GX seem top heavy?

The truck doesn't drive like it's top heavy. I use second "Normal" setting on the AVS.
