Odd Suspension Occurence
Just today I was turning onto a road (traveling over 10pm) and the vehicle began hopping. The same kind of hop you'd get if you had a car lowered. Every single dimple in the road was felt in the rear.
So I pulled over the check the tires. Both tires were fine, but the suspension was dropped in the lowest position. I checked the dash and it indicated it was in the center position. I selected the higher setting and I heard no compressor from the rear and the truck was not raising. I then shut the vehicle off and restarted it. The indicator light was in fact in the high position yet visually the truck was still lowered.
I had to drive off to my appointment which was less then a mile away and the truck felt normal. When I pulled into a parking spot and got out to check, the truck looked normal again.
Odd

Man you got the weirdest luck
Man Look either you are extremely **** or you just have some seriously bad luck. 03-04' BMW X5 is having that kind of problem right now due to their same rear auto level air shock. What is happening with theirs is the auto level sensor is bad and will not raise or lower the truck so an error message comes up. They have no fixes for their problem and several members have had to sell their 1000mile X5 back to the dealership at a major loss to get into new ones. Occurance is random and maybe one out of 500 vehicles. I doubt yours is a ongoing problem, I do notice if you raise the car and put it soft mode the truck is a little bouncy but not to bad considering the settings.

My situation was that the suspension seemed to be stuck down low for some reason. But I'd been driving for several miles so its odd.
****? Definitely not with this issue. Cause the suspension in the rear definitely was down low. Other issues I might be a bit ****

The rear auto leveling suspension gets thrown off with uneven surfaces, it says in the owners manual that in certain spots the truck can get confused so it probably went into fail safe and stopped at a neutral point instead of lifting up and down

The truck did not get stuck in the middle position. It got stuck in the lower position while I was driving at least 40mph. I pulled over because the ride felt odd, the indicator said it was in the middle position but it clearly was not. If there is a fail safe, it was not working.
