Just got my Xenondepot H11 kit!!

If your kit is same as mine then you have a fuse for each light---open up that fuse holder and look at it, mine got all corroded and I had to pull the fuse out and clean it up in there and replaced with new fuse--mine woulnt fire up either on one side and thats what I found to be the problem

My driver side lamp went off. Thinking of upgrading to HID.
Based on the consensus here, the "H11 HID Kit - Xtreme" with Philips 4300K from XenonDepot seems the defacto standard.
1.) Does anyone have the latest CL coupon?
2.) Will the kit contain both High & Low beam?
The fog lights are working fine. I guess, I can hold-off on those for now.
I'm also thinking of replacing the housing since it has become extremely hazy ('07 GX) . A few threads recommends OEM whereas others recommend a Projector housing.
3.) Can anyone please recommend a specific brand/ model?
Thank you!

2- No, as the GX uses separate bulbs for the low and high beams so you would need to get 2 HID kits. I would recommend going with LED for the high beams as they would function better since they are instant on but they won't be as bright as the HID kits.
3- A great cost effective way is to clean your headlights with a headlight cleaning kit. If that does not work or last then you can look into getting a new headlight, I believe the GX has factory projector halogen headlights which still makes it a good candidate for the HID kit upgrade.

1- Unfortunately, there are no active forum coupon codes at this time. Having said that, we are offering an extra 10% off any order or 20% off orders over $200 right now.

@hitsofmiss -
Philips does not directly make an HID bulb that you could connect to a Halogen base fitment. The Philips D2S HID capsules you received have been removed from their original bases and attached to a custom-moulded H11 halogen base. The markings that identify that capsule as a Philips product are on the original Philips d32 bases, and since the base we provide is not a "Philips" base, we cannot lawfully stamp ‘Philips’ on it.
Hope this helps,
Steve

I'm not very handy with cars & I'm finding the installation a bit overwhelming. I could not find any installation videos for Lexus GX 470 online. I spoke with Danny who confirmed that & asked me to use other cars video as a reference. I found this thread but some of the pics are not very clear. Most likely it is me since I have never done it before & I don't know where & what to look for some of the parts in the instructions. A Video would have been nice.
So, I spoke with 2 mechanics who does most of my work & are very reliable. One of them is a Lexus specialist. Both advised me against installing the kit. The first said, the housing gets too hot & will eventually burn it. The other (Lexus specialist) said, he gets more people coming to him for uninstalling the kit because the bulb blow quite a lot & for other reasons. And another issue is aligning it. In some of the states, it is illegal.
I'm a bit confused. I want better headlights but don't want to incur additional expenses down the line. Has anyone experienced any issues with the Extreme HID Kit post installation or has found any helpful videos?
Thank you!

On the installation front, unfortunately, it is what it is, though it truly isn't as bad as it might seem, especially on the GX 470 (LX was harder). In general, on both vehicles, it did take me longer than average to install, but that's because I am a bit retentive about things looking factory AND not drilling into the vehicle to attach components.
As for the other concerns, with all due respect to your two technicians, that is all a bunch of hearsay. While there is a lot of conflicting information out there, most numbers I've seen confirm that the xenon bulbs run cooler than the factory halogen bulbs. And well, the housings in both my GX and LX (with AFS, to boot) were intact upon uninstalling the kits.
In terms of burning out, that may be true for crappy kits, but it was simply not my experience with XenonDepot kits.

As to how to install the kit in a vehicle, here are a few from other vehicles that should help further guide you: http://www.xenondepot.com/Reviews-s/60.htm
Concerning what the two mechanics said, the HID kits would actually run cooler as they are a lower wattage setup 35w vs 55w from the halogen bulbs. I could understand people having issues with a lesser quality HID kit as we hear that a lot from customers but we ensure we sell quality HID kit that is easy to install and functions without any issues.

Danny- I bought your Extreme Kit with 4300k bulbs a few years ago and it has performed perfectly. Recently I noticed the color has gotten warmer and not as cool/white. Is this normal after a few years of use?
