GX470 TDi

I'd definitely take the Diesel. Do you know how much torque those things pump out?!? The Touareg V10-TDI goes 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. It's 7.5 with the V8! And, the V8 gets around 15mpg while the diesel V10 gets 22. It would be awesome if Lexus would debut a diesel model.

Must be the diesel that the owners are useing here in Australia then. The few Prado TDIs, and Hilux TDI which uses the same engine, have all appeared to puff a little more black smoke then the Euro diesels that I've driven.

Do they puff on start up or when you put the pedal to the floor.
I doubt Toyota is gonna introduce a diesel into a Lexus, we will most likely see a Hybrid GX that has a combined HP of 300+ and get 60mpg, Toyota has yet to put a diesel in the Tundra and most Americans don't see diesel as luxury they see them as work horse, loud and noisey American Trucks depite the few Mercedes diesel on the road.
American market is backwards, gasoline powered automatic vehicles changing the oil every 3-5k, Europe is all diesel manuals on extended interval oil changes of 15k, not all disel manuals but way more.

That's a full throttle launch and there's no smoke. That thing goes 0-60 in 6.2 seconds and gets better gas mileage than a V6 sedan! 5.0l V10 biturbo mmmmm
