Anyone have any tips on resolving this issue? My 08 gs350 makes a clicking noise when you open the doors really wide and again as you close it. I've tightened all the screws around the door check... Also lubed it as good as possible.

Could it be something to do with the door check pin? Has anyone replaced that and if so, how do you replace it?

The lock actuator in that door is failing. Soon the door latch won't move at all.
I will ask the dealership how much it would cost to replace the actuator when I bring my car in for the recall. From what I heard it could run into several hundred bucks.

Yeah I believe the part itself does not come cheap, but the good news is labor should not be much and even easily DIY because once you take the door panel off (also easy) everything is right in front of your face in the door. I've personally gone in there to repair the windows when one day mysteriously both rear windows were off their tracks (I suspect maybe someone tried to force them and ultimately failed to get in).

The actuator itself should just be a few bolts, a plug and play harness and then hooking the ball end of a cable into it.

I personally don't see why opening the door would cause the actuator to click but... just take the door panel off and open and close the door and listen to where the clicking is.

I have this clicking sound on my LS and it's definitely coming from the piece that attaches to the car from the door. Not to be mistaken with the actual latch.

Sha4000, I think you are bang on.... Not sure what's causing it. Really hate to open up the panels just to find it. Not sure if it's something I can just ignore and not worry about the whole latch breaking.

This is the piece that clicks o the drivers side of my LS. I can see it move when I open the door. I know you have to take the door panel off to get to the other side but don't know how to detach the piece in the pic. It seems to be held on with a pin in the middle.

Remove the plastic piece there is a screw, unscrew it. Then remove door panel and inside there should be another screw or on the outside that needs to be unscrewed. 2 screws in total and the piece comes out through the door panel.
