06 gs430 blown motor?
I was driving and the check engine light came on, vdc light, and the temperature gauge went straight to cold like the car was turned off but the rest of the gauges were working. So then I exited the freeway and the car started shaking and then turned off. I popped the hood and steam was coming out of the hood. I didn't know the car overheated because the temperature gauge didn't work. Now the car won't start, is there a safety thing that I need to reset if it gets too hot? It got so hot my reservoir cap melted and the radiator cap blew. When I looked up the check engine code it said, "P0117 ENGINE COOLANT CIRCUIT LOW INPUT". I checked plugs and all they are all dry. I checked the oil dip stick and there is no coolant in the oil. Any ideas??
Thanks.
Thanks.

If it got as hot as you are describing then the motor could have seized.
Might want to start by seeing if the motor can be turned freely by the crank.
You had to have noticed something...if you knew the gauge wasn't working then that's on you...but it is a chance that something broke causing the car to just dump the coolant....that's what I would start looking for.
