So i just bought a torque wrench leaving all happy and stuff as i got home and opened the package it was already set to 9.... I heard that you're not suppose to leave it on the highest setting... should i return it get another one? what if all of them were set like this? THis is a craftsman clicker style microtork wrench 1/2in. drive....

Right now, you're reading at 19 ft-lbs of torque. You're suppose to twist that to move it to a desire torque setting. If you do go over 150 ft-lbs of torque, you might run the risk of getting it out of calibration.

its ok to have a little play, just make sure it will not slip into the next torque higher or lower

make sure after you use it you return it to the lowest setting (19). it preserves the life of it so you dont need get it re calibrated often.
