ya but some people are saying aftermarket coilovers will fit into the AWD front C clamps.
so if the aftermarket coilovers made for RWD will fit the AWD, then why is is that the oem RWD shocks will not bolt onto the AWD C clamps ?
I just don't see how the aftermarket like BC or Ksport etc can be so far more advanced to have it already threaded to fit the AWD C clamps.

AWD front struts are cheaper then RWD struts!!!! What are you saying? http://www.partswebsite.com/oemlexus...imagecallout=3
And they did not make IS350 AWD, until the new body. IS350 struts will not fit AWD GS350.

I think u missed the entire point of this thread. We are not debating if rwd pqrt is cheaper than awd part.
This thread is to give awd owners a legitimate choice when replacing their FRONT awd struts other than having to stick to oem dealership prices.

I was having this same problem when I was lowering my 06, there is no listing for awd front struts anywhere. I also did not want to pay dealership prices. So I went to Napa and got front struts for an IS350 awd. They are a direct replacement. Here's the kyb part# 551126 and 551127
4851080259 - strut
IS250; Right; w/AWD
4852059305 - strut
IS250; Left; w/AWD
4851080441 - strut
GS300; Right; w/AWD
4852080185 - strut
GS300; Left; w/AWD
Here is a diagram for the 2006 GS300 that shows the monster C clip (Part#4) and the AWD strut (Part#3):
While the shock from the 250 may fit the 300 physically, the vehicles are of vastly different weights and more than likely, the strut compression and rebound characteristics are designed to match the spring that goes with them and also the weight that is subsequently put on them on a daily basis. The OEM AWD Front struts are now only $98 a piece, so please get the right parts for your car and wish you all a happy and safe motoring experience.

Thanks for the part numbers that is helpful information, and if you want to stick with OEM that's great.
However your wrong on a few points.
The 2011 2nd gen Lexus IS350 did in fact come in awd. It does have the same suspension design as the IS250 And those struts will in fact work in the gs300/350 awd which also utilizes the same design.
I can personally verify that they will fit as I am currently equipped with these struts and the ride quality is great, granted I did also install Tanabe nf210 springs.
I also did a side by side comparison without springs and they are the same length. OEM is not the only option; )

anyone have the part diagram for the IS350 AWD?
I think what a lot of people are getting wrong is the assumption of the part numbers having to be the same in order to be in identical part.
two parts can be identical in every way and still have different part numbers.

I replaced 2008 GS350 awd with KYB 551126 (Front Right, Passenger side), 551127 (Front Left, Driver side), 551108 (Rear Left & Right).
It is the same lengths as the original shocks and it works perfect !! Thanks sprtn131
