Question Lexus yellow capsules

Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to find reliable Lexus yellow capsules? I'd like to install them in my foglights, but the ones I've seen on ebay or even tried doing a general search came up looking cheap. Any recommendations?

I would just get an 3000k HID kit from ebay or amazon.

You want the housing to be yellow or your light to be yellow? Putco 2500k works really well for a nice golden yellow. You could also vinyl wrap the housing but it sorta sticks out like a sore thumb in the daytime.

I believe Steve2424 is looking for something such as this, a yellow glass "capsule" that the bulb slides in to. HID-equipped 2GS's came with these in their fog lights.

As for purchasing capsules separately, not sure.

Mesca, I settled for Putco jet yellow bulbs for my 3GS and they are certainly a close match to the yellow capsules mentioned above.

YES! This, but I have rarely seen good ones online unless the pictures are just terrible quality. I see a lot of imitations and don't want to get burned. The overlays I've considered but would leave the foglights with a constant yellow tinge. On a red car I think it'll grow old looking fast lol.

I was also considering the 3000K HID kit route, but am afraid of bulbs blowing out/ ballasts dying prematurely.

Mesca -- any experience with 2500-3000K HID's? If so, how is the life expectancy of those puppies?

Thank you all for answering!

My first foglight upgrade was to 3000k. I didn't really like it because it lights up green in the beginning and turns into a pale yellow. Brightness was good but maybe from the brand I got it didn't last long. Like Thomas I got the Putco 2500k and that lights up a great yellow color immediately although it's not as luminous as the HID, they are definitely more reliable. I would swap in Putco Jet Yellow halogen bulbs and call it a day.

I'll look into the Putco bulbs. A friend of mine had a 3000K kit in his fogs on his G37 and it had the same color effect as you mentioned -- greenish at first with a whitish yellow when fully warmed. Wasn't too impressed.
